Module · Query Modifier

A patented anonymizing proxy that preserves the quality of the answer.

Query Modifier is the perimeter component of the Intelligine platform that intercepts every outbound request to a public language model, rewrites identifying entities into semantically equivalent placeholders before the request leaves the customer environment, and re-binds the original entities locally on the inbound response so that the customer user receives an answer that retains the specificity of the original question.

Modification rather than redaction

Modifying the query in flight preserves the contextual content that the public model depends upon.

The conventional industry approach is to redact sensitive content from the outbound prompt before it reaches the public model, which strips away the contextual content that the public model depends on for accuracy and produces a noticeably worse answer, while the Intelligine Query Modifier rewrites identifying entities into semantically equivalent placeholders, allows the public model to reason against a fully formed query, and re-binds the original entities locally on the inbound response so that no information has left the customer environment and no answer quality has been lost in the process.

  • Patent-granted agentic anonymizing proxy operating at the customer perimeter, with the patent originally granted to Intelligine in 2023
  • Semantic preservation of intent across rewrites, so that public model accuracy is retained against the modified query
  • Local re-binding of original entities on the inbound response, so that the customer user receives a fully specific answer

Why Query Modifier

Material capabilities beyond a simple redaction filter.

/01

Semantic preservation of intent

The proxy preserves the semantic intent of the original query across rewrites, so that the public model receives a fully formed question and produces an answer of equivalent quality to the answer that would have been produced against the original entities.

/02

Per-tenant policy controls

Customer policy determines which entity classes are anonymized, which placeholder taxonomies are used, and which categories of customer data are forbidden from leaving the customer environment under any rewrite.

/03

Complete audit log of every modification

Every individual rewrite is logged in the customer audit store, including the original entity, the placeholder, the policy that applied, and the public model destination, so that an internal regulator or external supervisor can reconstruct any past interaction in full.

/04

No customer data egress under any condition

Customer data, customer identities, and customer transaction references never leave the customer-defined network boundary, because the rewriting and re-binding operations are performed locally inside the customer virtual private cloud, customer on-premises data center, or customer air-gapped environment.

Evaluate the Query Modifier on a customer scenario.

A working demonstrator of the Query Modifier is exposed on the customer-facing landing page, with a single anonymous attempt available to any visitor and unrestricted use available against a verified business email address, so that the customer information security organization can evaluate the methodology against a customer-relevant scenario before any contractual engagement.
